Care Guide

WOOL SWEATERS - LINEN - COTTON

WOOL

Taking care of your Especie Humana merino sweaters isn’t just maintenance — it’s what makes them last.

Merino wool clothes are resistant to odors and stains, thanks to their natural structure so it requires less washing.

In many cases, simply airing them outdoors —preferably in the shade— is enough to restore freshness and naturally eliminate odors.

Hand Washing (Preferred Method):
Hand washing wool is really quick and easy. Follow these simple steps and you'll be out of the laundry in no time.

Fill a basin with cold or lukewarm water (not exceeding 30°C) and add a mild detergent. Gently submerge your sweater, allowing it to soak for about 10 minutes. Avoid rubbing or wringing, as this can distort the fibers. Rinse thoroughly in cool water until all soap is removed.

Dry wool:
Flat dry your knitted sweaters out of direct sunlight placed on a pale coloured or white towel. Allow the garment to dry in the air naturally. Drying on hangers can cause knitted garments to stretch due to the weight of the moisture contained by the garment, with the result that the garment loses its shape.

Stain Removal:
Address stains promptly by blotting with a clean cloth. Apply a small amount of wool-safe detergent directly to the stain, gently working it in with your fingers. Rinse with cold water, repeating if necessary. Avoid rubbing, which can damage the fibers.

Storage:
Store merino sweaters folded in a cool, dry place to maintain their shape. Use breathable cotton bags to protect against dust and pests. Ensure sweaters are clean before storing, as stains and body oils can attract moths.

By adhering to these care guidelines, you not only extend the life of your Merino wool sweaters but also uphold their quality, allowing them to be treasured for generations.

LINEN

Your linen garments will get better and softer after every wash. Here are our recommendations for the best treatment:

Washing
Hand wash or machine wash at a maximum temperature of 30°C (86°F). We recommend not to overload the washing machine or to wash it with heavy garments (jeans. jackets etc.), as it can harm the fabric.

Drying
While you can tumble dry (low o medium heat), we recommend air drying to maintain the quality and longevity of the linen.

Ironing
Steam is the best option for ironing. High temperature is needed to smooth out any wrinkles. However, remember that the nature of linen is wrinkly, so we recommend embracing its natural texture!

COTTON T-SHIRTS

Every piece we create is made to last.
But its lifespan depends not only on the quality of its materials, but also on the care you give it. It’s a shared task — look after it, and it’ll stay with you for years.

-Machine Wash Up To 30ºc/86ºf Gentle Cycle
-Medium iron
-Do Not Tumble Dry - you don't want your shirt to shrink
-For white t-shirts, machine wash with white or similar colors.
